Earthwizard's Realms of Faërie: The Poetry of Silvelock

A Girl I Used to Know

	I was young, alone
	and in Jessup Georgia.
	I had been there
	several times before.
	In a honky tonk tavern
	Down in Georgia,
	I sat alone drinking beer
	When a blond blue-eyed bar-girl
	Came over,
Said, "How long have you been here?"
I said, "I have been here forever,
	Don't have anywhere to go"?
	Now where in the world
	Is that bartender?
	And where is the girl
	I used to know?"
She sat on the barstool beside me,
Smiled as I ordered her a round,
Asked if I'd like to go with her,
Would I be very long in this town.
I said "Yes I'd like to go with you,
	Don^t have anywhere to go
	Now where in the world
	Is that bartender?
	And where is the girl
	I used to know?
As we left the barroom together
She smiled so sweetly once again,
Said,"I know you don't really love me,
But won't you say you do, now and then?"
I said, "Yes I'll tell you I love you,
An though some would call it a sin
I'll hold your body close to me
'Till it's time to leave again."
We went upstairs to her apartment,
With the window shades all pulled down
We made lave and held each other
That day in that Georgia town.
