	Legend of the Vine

	Under the green canopy, forest dwelling creatures,
	haunting of owl, wolf, and boar; the laughter
	of the gods, the silent patter of the ancient FaŽ:
	crossings of the worlds, rainbow slivered light,
	unseen by any human eye, the gate opens wide:
	the blessed Lady in White softly wades into a dark pool,
	her pale visage revealing the legend of the vine:
	down below the deep green sea, she lives,
	among the mermaids of the western lands;
	here she once a lover took, among the short lived race,
	a prince among men, a Gael of Gaels;
	of the Clan Bascna was he born, Fionn Mac Cumhail,
	Fionn the Fair, child of sorrow and bright destiny;
	rider of the five circuits of Eire: defender
	of the High King of Mede; this leader,
	Bran and Sceolan, hounds of bewitchment, at his side
	pursued his lover Grainne and Diarmuid unto the edge of cinniķint;
	broken by time's harsh law, came to the end of days, this
	hunter and sorcerer, lover and warrior,
	till her spell, this Lady of the Vine, found him sleeping
	in the depths of that cold cave awaiting
	the call of his tribe in time of need and trouble,
	to once again return and defend the indomitable Irishry.
