    Tarot Cycle: The Wandering Minstrel

	The wandering minstrel in innocence his quest begins in earnestness:
	the shattered lives he leaves behind ignorant of past wrong,
	the design of terrors unbidden
	by rhyme or reason, lying unresolved within his mind;
	the quickening of a tale gone awry, his quest
	to find again the lost pathway between the times:
	the broken tower swaying in the distant breach, a gap
	where elven folk and human kind once found
	the secret passages into the dreamtime:
	the earth of paradise revealed at last, untold;
	behold the blank declivities of the mind beholden
	to the once blessed lords of earth,
	the spirits of the wild wood come home at last:
	their forest temples built again by beast and man,
	the welcome need fires rising in merry festival, celebration;
	hoof and horn, bole and bell, harp and flute sounding,
	resounding in the hollow hills under a harvest moon,
	hidden in the circled magic of the faŽrie forts,
	where the fool finds himself, coat turned inside out,
	laughing at the unholy truth
	that gave him back again his immortal youth.
	Scattered dreams in the dust of time,
	the fool and king, once in a life
	down to the river must go
	to see the fair folk trysting in their nightly wakes,
	trusting both hand and eye, the second sight,
	knowing that they be fools of time, all
	knowing that life is a lie unless
	we believe in the power of magick's light:
	the laughter, the simple life,
	the forest dwellers delight, memories toys:
	all the years scattered under mounds of faŽrie dust,
	bring the bright fool and king into the green truth at last.
