Earthwizard's Realms of Faërie

Summer is the time of fruition. The Sun is beginning to blanket the world in total brilliant streams of white light. The teeming ocean awakens to the sound of orca and whale as the long voyage home to wintering grounds once again begins... This is the time of celebration and the festival of lights.

	Summer Faë

	On a midsummer's eve
	when all the earth in red and gold
	lays somber and restful under the evening sun,
	waiting silently for the ancient mystery
	to begin, the drift of moon and stars,
	the dreams, the visions of an ampler world
	where the little folk ascend the midnight sun
	on fly cap, spotted belly toads
	of red, black and white, weaving
	their charms of magic and delight,
	over hill and dell, snail and whale,
	from Eamhain Abhlach, to Afallon's Sacred Isle;
	until awakened by some sudden thought or memory,
	this Queen of the Mayday fires stirs turns a glance
	toward us, her violet eyes aglow surmising
	more than can be told: the laughter in the hedge,
	the ring of stones, the dancer's flight,
	the pagan rites that honor the triple goddess and her lover,
	the slow turning of the wheel of Time
	when dragon and unicorn rise
	above the dark and light, twilight: -
	where grey riders on the shore are seen, hoofs agleam,
	white and gold banners of a distant age, held aloft, flowing:
	proud warriors of the Celtic born race of elder days;
	those roam the shores between the worlds,
	from midnight till morn: their noble steeds
	aglow with spirit fire and breath of ancient deeds and worlds,
	that bring dark desire between woman and man home to hearth
	and bed in a weaving and unweaving of the spell
	that finds us all spellbound, enchanted
	by the beauty and the grace, the power
	of this Summer Queen of the Merry Faës of Mayday.
