Earthwizard's Realms of Faërie

Life after life the circle is bright...

		A Bard's Vision

	The mind is broken, a void awakens:
	the ghost of dreams, the shaken leaf,
	the frozen snare of vampires breath:
	the bleeding teeth, the lapping tongue:
	passion spent, the deed forgotten, the past revoked;

	the mind bends low, all thought unfolds:
	the silver bow bends back upon
	the cloudy hollow of the brain,
	taut the string: the lesser fires of this dream:
	Maker's craft, the drummer lost in rhythmic chants;

	he walks amid the living dead,
	his eyes of stone fall away;
	he sees not all the dreaded fey:
	the darksome host, unseelies wickedness;
	the broken mirror of his mind, frayed;

	the empty gaze, the hated days,
	the mind begins to fade away into this darkness:
	oblivion, the door to nothingness;
	the tokens at the river styx, hold him quick,
	the bones of time waken him to dizziness;

	the void of voids begets the sight,
	the sudden gust of souls in circles fly bye:
	all telling of the whirling spindle of this tale:
	the darkness made visible that turns the stile:
	abyss of the unreal city of the damned;

	his life to know and gather from the seeds
	that fell into this black earth,
	the myth of manhood's challenge
	to give birth to troth: the slow way
	of careful thought that ponders this lost art.
